The things I do when I'm not "working", sometimes look a bit like work. Some look a lot like play! I work hard-- and I like to play hard. Life is too short not to enjoy all of it that you can, and for me that focuses mostly on things to do outside.

What I do when I'm not in the office

Painting: Recently, I tried my hand at painting and figured out that I actually enjoy it. Now, I'm trying to master the art of copying a Rothko.

Fishing / Camping / Hunting: I've always been a big fan of anything outdoors. Not too much is nicer than seeing the sun rise through the timber.

Chess: I seem to be getting worse at chess instead of better- or perhaps, its my competition. When I was in grade school, I remember being quite good, but for some reason, I seem to be loosing more than I win to a buddy of mine.

Baseball: Baseball has always been my great equalizer. Ever since I was a baby, I have had  baseball in my hand, and through the sport I have learned more than I ever thought a simple bat and ball could teach me.

Remodeling: My family never can quite leave a house alone. There is always some improvement to be done, and it never seems to be the simple things like painting a white wall blue. We always need to create a challenge- to move the wall, vault the ceiling, it can never be simple.

Golf: I started playing -or trying to play- a few years ago. I think I could be pretty good if I could just tame my slice.

Classics: This would include the moments sometime referred to as "guy stuff" such as the conversation about emerging security trends over a nice Montecristo.

Boating: After a few summers on the beach, my buddies and I finally discovered the fun that could be had on the open water.
